About me

Hello! Welcome to my website.

My name's Rich and I have been living and working in the Alps for the past 14 years.

I am a UIMLA qualified hiking guide (International Mountain Leader) and BASI ski instructor. I live in the Val de Bagnes, close to the ski resort of Verbier - just over an hours drive from Chamonix and around 40 minutes to Lac Leman.

I offer private and bespoke guided hiking days in the local area as well as futher afield and I also design custom hut to hut holidays for people who have maybe already visited the Alps and hiked one of its famous routes such as the TMB or the Haute Route who are now looking to discover some quieter trails away from the crowds. The cantons of Vaud and Valais in Switzerland have some unbelievable hiking routes where you may pass just a handful of people every day.

Design your own trip

I often have clients who come to the Alps for the first time on classic trips such as the TMB or the Haute Route who get in touch a year or two later because they want to explore different and less well known corners of the Alps. Get in touch if this applies to you and I can help you to create a unique self-guided hiking experience

Summer Hiking

I offer private guiding days in my local area - the Val de Bagnes, as well as further afield all over Vaud and Valais. Get in touch if you're keen and would like to find out more! These can be single day trips or multi days including nights in mountain huts.

Winter Snowshoeing

Exploring the winter landscape on snowshoes can be a beautiful and magical experience. We will often be prepared to travel a bit in winter to be able to make the most of the current conditions. Favourite destinations are Col des Mosses, Villars-sur-Ollon and La Fouly.
